PLAYSTATION IS LOSING 3 CONSOLE EXCLUSIVES TO XBOX
PlayStation is losing not one, not two, but three console exclusives to Xbox consoles. In other words, three games that can only be played on PC, PS4, and PS5 are coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. The first of these three games -- and probably the most notable -- is The Pathless. An action-adventure game developed by Giant Squid, The Pathless was released back on November 12, 2020 as a PS5 launch game. Depending on the platform, its Metacritic scores range from 77 to 81.
The second game is Solar Ash, which debuted back on December 2, 2021 via developer Heart Machine. A science-fiction action-adventure game, it boasts a 78 on Metacritic
The third and final game is Maquette from developer Graceful Decay. It was also released in 2021, but on March 2, and at the time of release, it was given out for free via PS Plus. A puzzle adventure game, it boasts Metacritic scores ranging from 70 to 71, depending on the platform.
PlayStation has teased that there will be some surprising reveals in store later this week at EVO 2022. For the first time since 2019, EVO is set to return as an in-person tournament at Las Vegas. And while many fans might be excited to see the tournaments for games like Street Fighter 5, Mortal Kombat 11, and Dragonball FighterZ, it sounds like some new announcements separate from the tourneys could also appear at the event.
Detailed on the PlayStation Blog today, Sony provided a tease of what fans can expect from Evo 2022 when it begins later this week. Specifically, it was revealed that PlayStation will be holding a live stream on August 5th and 6th that will feature "exciting content and reveals" from a number of different video game publishers. Although it wasn't specified what these reveals could be associated with, some notable news could end up coming about from Evo.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that eight Yakuza games are headed to PlayStation Plus this year.
First up is Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which will be made available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers as part of August’s just-announced games line-up.
Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will then be released as part of August’s Game Catalog line-up for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members.
Also coming later this year for PlayStation Plus Premium members are Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered and Yakuza 5 Remastered, while Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be made available for Extra and Premium members.
The first images of the next Yakuza game seemingly appeared online last week, when MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura posted a video of himself taking a studio tour at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has confirmed that it’s working on a Yakuza: Like A Dragon sequel and a new IP.
Following an earlier leak, Sony announced on Wednesday that August’s PlayStation Plus games will be Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (PS5/PS4), Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5/PS4) and Little Nightmares (PS4).
The three games will be available for subscribers to claim from August 2 until September 6.
July’s PlayStation Plus games are still available to claim until August 1. They are Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS5/PS4), The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan (PS4) and Arcadegeddon (PS5/PS4).
